The first half of this year has been full of more ups and downs than any in our history. As a company that brings customers together with the local service professionals they need to get things done, our business saw an immediate impact due to COVID-19. In the face of this sharp decline, we were moved to make some incredibly hard decisions.
We pushed through the uncertainty, guided by our mission: to help everyone do life’s work with joy and purpose. As a team, we rallied together to give customers more choices and small business owners more chances. We advocated for local, state and federal aid for local service professionals. We launched remote services to better support video offerings and introduced COVID-19 badges, to help pros communicate their implementation of safety measures.
Over time, we began to see projects rise. As people spend more time at home, they are starting more and more new projects. And our pets, business services, and health and wellness categories have also seen increases as folks adapt to new realities.
Heading into the second half of 2020, I am confident about our path forward as a company. Like many of our pros who have seen their business rebound to new levels, we have seen our business bounce back and we’re stronger than ever.
We are beginning to invest in our future while planning for the pandemic’s impact on the country’s health and economy.
