Hi Developers! As you already know, ThunderCore is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). As you’ll see in the video, deploying an ERC-20 smart contract on ThunderCore is super fast and easy. This means if you have a current dapp built on Ethereum, moving it to the ThunderCore Protocol is a piece of cake. For this demo we’re using Remix IDE.
Before we created this video tutorial, we wanted to eat our own dog food, as it were. So, back in June 2018, we ported multiple well-known smart contracts on Ethereum to the ThunderCore Protocol. Our purpose was to test for immediate compatibility. At the time we didn’t test for performance, but we may run that test again to see the orders-of-magnitude in performance of these dapps on Ethereum versus the same dapp on ThunderCore.
We are big fans of some of these projects and the teams behind them, that’s why it was important to us to make sure that the smart contracts upon which these dapps were built are compatible with the ThunderCore Protocol. We are also fans of many more dapps on Ethereum and we’ll be testing those as time goes on also.
Here are the ones we’ve tested:
- Gnosis MultiSig
- 0x Project
- Kyber Network
- Decentraland Land and Decentraland Marketplace
In the tutorial video, we will walk you through the entire process, which has only 5 simple steps:
- Install MetaMask
- Get Thunder Tokens
- Copy and paste the ERC20 contract
- Deploy through Remix IDE
- Check on ThunderScan
