Last week, we wrapped up the 48-Hour June Hackathon! The theme was social apps. We received dozens of amazing entries from around the world! See the winners at the end of this post.

This month, we’re excited to launch the second of three Summer Hackathons!

The winner of the July Hackathon will receive:

  • $500 prize
  • An app design session with our in-house design team
  • Have their app featured on the Thunkable Gallery

Two runner ups will also receive a $20 prize!

Hackathon #2: Month of July — Apps for Businesses/Work Teams

The theme for this month’s hackathon will be Apps for Businesses. Create an app on Thunkable for a business or an idea that can become a business!

All submissions must be made by July 31st at 11:59 PM PST. See the rules and guidelines below.

Rules and Guidelines:

All Thunkers must follow these rules and guidelines to compete in the Summer Hackathon.

  1. Send a share link for your app to hackathon@thunkable.com by the specified deadline.
  2. In your submission email, include a brief description about what your app does.
  3. All projects MUST be PUBLIC so they can be featured if you win.
  4. All apps MUST be built on Thunkable X.
  5. Share screenshots of your apps on social media with #MadeWithThunkable and tag us @thunkable.

First Place Winner

PartySzn (Party Season) by Brittany

PartySzn is an app that allows friends to complete their summer bucket lists together! Friends can share an invitation to join in on the fun across any social media app. The app has pre-existing summer bucket list ideas and allows you to create your own events to add to the list. Once you’ve completed an item on the bucket list, you can remove it from the bucket list. You can also keep track of the events you’ve completed! #PartySzn

Two Runner Ups

Lost&Found by Lucy Rubin

Lost&Found allows users to connect through their love of animals as well as help others who have lost their pets. Pet owners can select a photo of their missing pet, write a caption and enter their phone number. Anyone who finds pet can easily send a text to the pet owner. In addition, pet lovers can connect through multiple chat rooms centered around pet care for dogs, birds, reptiles, and other types of pets. The user may also find dog parks, pet supply stores, and animal shelters in their area through Lost&Found.

Users can take photos, share them while others can “heart” (or like) the photos. The user can also add filters to the photos that they want to upload and share. You can discover new and interesting pictures from users by clicking the “Random Photo” button!
