As we cross halfway through 2021, it is a great time for us to reflect on the hard work the Thunkable team has put into this year and admire the amazing creations from our loyal community of users. This has been an incredible year of growth for us and we are excited to continue that trend with the announcement of new capabilities that will help you take your apps to the next level. Accompanying the release of these new features, we will also introduce a new packaging and pricing structure.

Product Release Announcements

Coming throughout the Summer season!

• Figma Design Import: To get your idea into an app faster, we are proud to announce an integration with Figma that will allow you to directly import your design into Thunkable. You will be able to take your mockup and quickly add buttons, actions, and more to create a beautiful & powerful app even faster. Available for everyone.
• Advanced Font Pack: We are introducing a new advanced font pack to improve your ability to design and customize your app. You’ll be able to select from 5 fonts to include on your Labels and Buttons. Improving visual elements and using unique fonts will help you create a great app experience. Available for everyone.
• Embedded Web Apps: We released the ability to publish your app to the web last year and it received phenomenal feedback. We understand the importance of being available everywhere, and web apps are a great way to extend your app’s reach. We are excited to take this capability even further by now allowing you to embed your web app within an iFrame. This will allow you to add your app to your existing website or create a custom domain for your web app. Available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise users.
• In-App Payments: We know the importance of creating a complete app experience. That is why we are introducing in-app payments so you can maximize your end-users screen time. Whether you’re building an app to support your business, extending your product, or just using it as a signup method for your service, you can now collect payments within your app using in-app payments. Available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise users.
• Saved Screen Collaboration: Building mission-critical apps takes a team. We have heard directly from our business users that they need the ability to share work so they can speed up development even faster. With Saved Screen Collaboration, your team can work asynchronously on a project to tackle multiple screens at once. When you’re ready to bring it all together, simply save screens and merge projects to complete your app. Or share your portion of the project with your team for QA & status checks. Available for Enterprise teams only.
• Android AAB Package: Google recently announced that all new apps will be required to be formatted as Android App Bundles (AAB) instead of their previous APK package. This change will fundamentally disrupt the app development world but thanks to the Thunkable team — it won’t be an issue for our users! We have already reformatted all of our projects to be compatible with AAB requirements. We’re proud to take the pain out of publishing, so when you’re ready to publish your project, it will always have the most current requirements from Google and Apple. Available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise.

Pricing & Packaging Changes

Updated: Coming July 19th! Due to popular demand and everyone’s Summer Break, we have heard from you that you want a few more weeks. Our changes will now take effect on Monday, July 19th.

Reviewing pricing and packaging is always an exciting time because it means we have an opportunity to better meet our users’ needs. We always want to be fair to you and give you all the tools, capabilities, and support needed to build your best apps. The last time we touched our prices & packaging was in 2018. Since then, we have continued to build Thunkable into the most powerful no-code native app development platform in the industry. We have continuously improved our product with new features, enhanced publishing capabilities, and unparalleled support.

We have consistently heard from our users how much you love Thunkable. That is why we want to give you more of what you love with packaging & pricing that better fits your specific needs.

And to our valued users with existing subscriptions: the new subscription prices will not affect your current subscription prices. This means you will continue to pay the same price you are now for your ongoing subscription until 2023, even after our proposed pricing changes take effect. At the same time, you’ll get the benefits of any new features we’re adding to our new subscription packages.

Upcoming Changes:

Free: Thunkable will continue to offer a free tier for anyone who wants to try out no-code app development. The Free tier will still allow you to completely design, develop, integrate, and test your app idea. You will have 10 public project boards, Figma import capabilities, 2 direct downloads per month, and Community support. We want to make sure that anyone who wants to get hands-on with active creation can still do so.

Also, anyone currently on Thunkable’s Free Tier will still get all previous Free capabilities until October 19th. After October 19th, all new and existing Free users will be a part of the new Free tier. Price: $0

*Note: All existing Free users will continue to have all existing Free capabilities until October 19th, 2021. At this point, all Free plans will be updated to this package.

*New* Starter: We are introducing our new Starter tier, aimed at those who want to work on their idea in stealth mode. Starter will come with 20 Public Projects, 1 Private Project, and 500MB storage. This is perfect for testing an idea, working on a concept, or looking to create the next Flappy Bird phenomenon. You can develop a project in private, download and share it, and get your app ready for public release. Price: $15/mo or $150/annually

Pro: Our Pro plan is here to stay! This is our most popular plan for individuals and we are excited to release even more functionality for our Pro users. This plan includes everything in Starter, plus 50 Private Projects, unlimited Public Projects, embedded WebApps in an iFrame, Intercom Chat Support, custom Splash Screen branding, unlimited publishing to the App Store and Play Store, AdMob integrations, and in-app purchases. The best parts of Pro are here to stay and we’re excited to add even more incredible features. Price: $45/mo or $450/annually

*Note: All existing paying Pro users will be locked into your existing price until 2023. You will not be charged more as long as you continue to be a Thunkable paying user.

*New* Business: Our Business plan is for our users looking to launch their start-up idea, extend their product capabilities, or support mission-critical operations via a mobile app. We will provide a dedicated account manager, 1:1 technical support, Saved Screen Collaboration, and unlimited projects, storage, and publishing capabilities. The introduction of no-code tools can radically improve your team’s efficiency and we want to help your business unleash the power of no-code native app development. Price: $200/mo or $2000/annually

*Note: All Premium Pro users will be upgraded to Business licenses and will continue to be charged at their current rate until 2023 as long as you continue to be a paying user.

Enterprise: Our Enterprise program is for teams with multiple users and advanced integrations. We’ll offer discounted group licenses, ongoing onboarding for new members of your team, 1:1 app development assistance, and more. Additionally, we are proud to announce Save Screen Collaboration and support with integrating your existing enterprise software and tools. We will work with you to deploy integrations to platforms like AWS, Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Okta, and more. If you need multiple accounts or have enterprise-level integrations, please reach out to us to create a plan that will perfectly suit your needs. Price: Custom Quote
