In June 2019, Megan Portorreal created Thursday with the vibe of her favorite day of the week in mind. She found that Thursdays always made her feel optimistic, with the weekend just on the horizon, and pensive as she reflected on the week receding behind her. She realized this feeling was one of her favorites in the world and wanted to collect stories of mindfulness, self-betterment, and personal growth in a single publication.
Our goal is to write and share personal essays about self-reflection and modern lifestyle. We aim to inspire our readers and help them realize their lives are unique. Every seemingly ordinary day is just another chance to better yourself, and we encourage our writers to share their most valuable life lessons with the world.

If you would like to join the Thursday team, kindly email us at email@example.com with your Medium username and examples of your best work. If you are accepted, we will then add you as a Writer and you can begin sharing drafts of your work with us for submission.
We are looking for thoughtful pieces about yourself and your life. Tell us about a memory or a recent experience that is important to you. Tell us about something you learned the hard way. We believe everyone’s lives are special and we want to hear what makes yours so unique.
Personal essays, think pieces, and narrative nonfiction of 800–2,000 words are welcome. Sorry, but we are not accepting poetry or fiction at this time.
