The Kings were about three minutes from finalizing their third consecutive win and sending everyone into the holiday on a high note. Instead they gave the game away in the final minutes, allowing the Calgary Flames to score twice with the extra attacker on the ice. Although, saying the Flames tied it seem slightly ridiculous. It makes it seem more like a team effort rather than the Kings allowing Johnny Gaudreau to earn a natural hat trick, the first of his career.

Cool.

In a game they should’ve won handily, they went to overtime tied 3–3. Then, sensing blood in the water, the Flames kept up the hard work and captain Mark Giordano scored in OT. The Flames snapped their eight-game losing streak.

The Kings went home.

Before that, the the three goals scored by Kings players were fun. Trevor Lewis picked up another one. He has now tied his career-high six goals in a season (that’s still too funny!).

If he scores in even one more game this season, that’s a whole new record. What a time for Trevor Lewis to be alive!!

Marian Gaborik extended his goal streak to five games, tying the longest streak in the league right now. Jamie McBain also scored his second goal of the season, surprising everyone, because who ever expects McBain?

Justin Williams also had a two-point night. All fun and good, but the Kings still lost, so not good enough, actually.

The good news is that now I don’t have to think about this team at all for like four days. That’s the real Christmas miracle.

Happy holidays, buddies!
