Nicki Minaj — Last Chance
With one more game until the Olympic Break, it’s one last chance to win and end the disappointing year start on a positive note. After the last game against the Blackhawks (especially that 2nd period), it was almost like seeing the old Kings again, one that can score some goals! It still ended in a loss, but maybe they’ll keep the ball rolling and play a whole 60 minutes tonight? Why am I even still clinging to any renewed hope that they’re still a team that can win right now?
Third Eye Blind — How’s It Going to Be?
So, trade rumors and speculation run rampant (I’m half expecting a trade to go down within 15 minutes of posting this) across the Twitterverse, and it’s just a matter of time until we see what the new roster looks like, aka if Sam Gagner will be gracing our California shores. The Kings have already made a minor trade today, so all that’s left is seeing what big, hopefully problem-solving shake-ups Dean Lombardi has in store for the end of the season.

Bright Eyes — I Won’t Ever Be Happy Again
I’ve chosen optimism before, and it ended in tears, sadness and booze. I’ve learned my lesson. With a loss tonight, the Kings will have gotten a hat trick of 5-game losing streaks, which is de rigeur for the Kings in 2014 so far.
It’s gloomy and rainy here in Santa Barbara, it’s reflecting feelings, so if they score a couple of goals, I’ll be hap-no that’s a lie, I’ll still be yelling at the TV, but I’ll at least expect it coming. Let’s just bring on the Olympics already!
