Abundance mindset overshadows the problems it creates
Some people may define abundance as being able to get whatever you want. I define it differently
Imagine going to your grandmother's house for Christmas dinner. A small bowl of candy is set out for everyone to enjoy. Most people will take a few pieces with their fingers. Now, picture if grandma went to Costco and filled a three-gallon bowl with candy.
What do you think happens?
People dive in, grabbing as much as possible, with candy spilling everywhere. They grab as much as they can filling their pockets, purses, and mouths with candy.
The difference between these two situations is about how we perceive abundance. When there’s less, we tend to be more mindful. But when there’s plenty, we often overindulge.
Today, too many people have an “abundance mindset.” They believe that the more they spend, the more they will get back. The cash-back culture is partly to be blamed for this. They believe they will have just because they believe they have.
Once, I fell for the abundance mindset trap and quickly learned that the universe doesn't work that way.
