God doesn’t care what you want

Ten years of spirituality have taught me to relax especially when it comes to God. Before that time, I was a worrier — always worrying about stuff.

I worried because I didn’t quite understand God. Everything He did seemed mysterious, but now I get it.

I understand now why God doesn’t care what we want.

A want is something you desire, wish for, or would like — things like a car, a house, or jewelry. One might want a luxury car but they can live without it. A want is not necessary for survival or well-being.

People want, desire, and wish for many things but God is not a genie. He is like a father and a mother.

My daughter often wants to get some type of candy every time we are at the store. Nerds, Skittles, KitKat, KinderJoy, etc. She loves candy and I love my daughter as much as I love myself and for that, I always tell her no.

No candy!

Sometimes, she believes I am withholding a good thing from her. From what she can see, I am perfectly capable of giving her what she asks for but I choose not to. It makes her really sad the same way I am sad that my prayers for the things I ask God for are unanswered.
