When I was growing up, I often heard that sinning was primarily about God. As in when I sinned I hurt God.

I was told that when I sinned, I was breaking God’s heart and that the punishment for my actions would be eternal damnation in hell.

How silly of them to tell me this?

This belief led me to think that as long as I could repent at the last moment, everything would be fine and I would escape life in hell.

I didn’t grasp the reality that sin is less about what it does to God and more about what it does to me.

Sin destroyed my life and God is still the Most High!

The truth is that sin affects our lives far more than it impacts God. When we stray from the path of righteousness, we are not just disappointing a deity; we are making choices that can lead to real consequences in our lives.

I learned this the hard way.

I didn’t understand that my actions would come back to haunt me and that my sins would create a ripple effect that could change the course of my life. I had no idea that by sinning against myself, I was changing…
