Why God is silent about what you ask for
My daughter loves asking me for things because she trusts me to meet her needs. I typically respond in one of three ways to her requests.
My first response is to tell her firmly "no." This is because I believe what she is asking for is not in her best interest.
The second response is "wait." I might not be ready at that moment and need time to arrange to give you what you ask or she may not be quite ready for what she is asking, and she needs more time to grow.
The third is a joyful “yes.” This means that I am ready and willing to give her what she desires.
However, there’s a fourth response that often leaves her feeling confused: silence.
Sometimes when she asks for something, instead of saying yes or no, I engage her so further, give her time to really think about what she’s asking.
In recent months, my daughter has developed an interest in the game Roblox. The idea of starting her own YouTube channel, where she can play the game and entertain her viewers, excites her. A few days ago, she asked if she could purchase game outfits that she believed would enhance her videos.
