After creating the safest marketplace to buy and sell tickets, TicketSwap has combined its forces again with ticketing company Eventix, to further tighten security in ticket resale to fight fraud in the toughest way devised yet. Tickets from the Eventix ticketing system from participating events can be resold on TicketSwap with just one click and are only distributed to the buyers shortly before the start of an event. This drastically shrinks the opportunity for fraudsters to resell copies of the same ticket in other ways. This system also blocks the chance of extortionate prices outside TicketSwap. As with any other closed-loop systems, the ticket may be transferred by sale to others but copies of the tickets cannot fall into the hands of wrong-doers.

TicketSwap’s Secure Swap system already exchanges an existing barcode for a new one when a ticket is transferred from one fan to another in a purchase. The original barcode is invalidated so that the ticket may not be used more than once. This partnership with Eventix will further keep tickets off of unsavory sales methods or other means of sales where there are no security measures taken to guarantee the validity of the tickets. And as always, TicketSwap caps the price a seller may ask at 20% above the original sales price — meaning scalpers don’t stand a chance either.

This new anti-fraud process is being piloted with the festival Woodstock Opening, where tickets went on sale January 7 and sold out almost immediately.

“We are really pleased to pilot this process with Eventix. This is a huge milestone for TicketSwap in our mission to fight fraud. The user experience is awesome because not only do buyers never need to worry about the validity of their ticket, you can sell your Eventix ticket in one click. TicketSwap predicts there will be lots of enthusiasm for this way of selling in the coming period,” stated Hans Ober, TicketSwap CEO.
