June 21st - ‘World Go Skateboarding Day’, July 17th — ‘World Emoji Day’ and September 19th - ‘World Talk Like A Pirate Day’. Now while these all mean well, they’re not going to help us in the long run. Move over ‘world days’, we’ve got a whole week that’s worth paying attention to.

This year, February 4th-10th is Tinnitus Awareness Week. Tinnitus being that irritating ringing in the ears, usually caused by partying mindlessly amongst speaker systems. Being in the business of swapping tickets, we understand our fans endure this, week in, week out.

The problem with encouraging people to look after these brilliant hearing mechanisms is the ‘I’ll be fine…’ attitude. Yes, your hearing usually does return to normal the next day but think about the cumulative effect of all those musical experiences. For some, Tinnitus can turn into a lifelong struggle, it really isn’t worth the risk. The continued wear and tear is silently(mind the pun) chipping away at the quality of your hearing. So, we’re offering up advice on how best to protect your ears for years to come!

Saying ‘No’ Every Once In A While.

One way to keep your ears fit and healthy is to give them the occasional break. Next time your clique are badgering you for a night of revelry, find a series to binge-watch at home. It’s that simple. You don’t have to attend every gig known to man…or do you? ;)

Invest In Some Earplugs.

The most obvious and effective choice is earplugs. If you’re a sufferer of FOMO and simply can’t say ‘no’ as we suggested above, you’ll need a pair of these. There’s a realm of different types on the market, dependent on the size of your wallet. These days, you can even get custom moulds made of your inner ear, to truly personalise your set. And no, we know what you’re thinking, if you’ve got the right pair of plugs, you’ll still hear everything.

Front Left Isn’t Always The Right Spot.

Front Left, meet front left’! If you haven’t heard this being bellowed out at a show, you need to catch more live music.

Nowadays, it’s becoming more and more popular to make a beeline for the front left of every dancefloor. Why this phenomenon exists, we have no idea but we reckon it’s fantastic that you’re all sticking together. Some of you might think it’d get a little squishy if everyone’s heading to the one spot but for some reason, it always works out. Taking a couple minutes away from the sound system, every now and again can also do wonders. Of course, it’s a whale of a time up there but your ears cop a barrage! How about middle left next time, we’re pretty sure it’s still exceptional.

Although we sell festival and concert tickets, it’s a fact, that the majority of us are listening to our headphones far too loud as well. Maybe drop the volume a few notches on these too. At the end of the day, we love the fact you’re all passionate about live music. This is just a reminder about that pair of fleshy listening devices stuck to the sides of your head. Ears. Be kind to them and they’ll be kind to you too!
