TIER IV Appoints New CEO

TOKYO, April 3, 2023 ーTIER IV today announced that the company has changed its President and Representative Director, and CEO, effective April 1, 2023.

Shinpei Kato, the current director and CTO, is appointed as the new President and Representative Director and CEO/CTO, and Kazuya Takeda, the current President and Representative Director, becomes a director.

At the time of the company’s establishment, Kato, the founder, served as the representative director. However, in April 2016, he took on a concurrent position as a full-time associate professor at the University of Tokyo (Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Department of Computer Science), and as a result, he became a non-representative director and CTO.

With effect from April 1, 2023, Kato will return to his role as representative director, as he transitions to a position as a project associate professor (part-time) at the University of Tokyo.
