Circles of a Future Politician

My Third TDG Novel

Four years ago, Eli Weasel and four friends put together a local TDG (Tiered Democratic Governance) for the Tankosin Indian Reservation. But after their constitution was ratified, not a lot happened. They had meetings and elections and a few new members, but interest sputtered. Attendance was low; the community just thought: “those crazy kids.” Their advisor, Len Pash, encouraged them to keep going in these years, just following the rules of their constitution.

Tiered Democratic Governance has four salient features: (1) tiered, indirect elections, (2) voting based on good character and competence for governance, (3) a culture of consultation, and (4) an advisory board to help elected representatives reach their decisions.
