Good-for-you habits such as exercising regularly, eating healthy, and living below your means are key components of leading a healthy life. However, they are very difficult to implement. Why? Because in the short-term, they don’t feel good at all, at least not to me. Also, they require high levels of discipline and commitment to see considerable results.

According to the World Health Organization, there are three key areas that contribute to the overall health of a human being: physical health, mental health, and social health. In my opinion, that’s not all. The fourth pillar to leading a healthy life is financial health. Surprisingly, many of us are still in the dark when it comes to successfully managing our personal finances. We don’t know where to start and worst of all, we never learnt what it means to be financially healthy.

Like many of you, I am working on improving my financial literacy as an adult and I am only recently learning everything I can about money: how to make it, how to manage it, and how to make it work for me…
