The TwitchCon Charity Plaza 2017 (Presented by Tiltify)
Tiltify, the premiere platform for content creators to fundraise money for charity, is proud to announce our 3rd year powering the TwitchCon Charity Plaza! This year’s plaza will not only feature 10 charities that have been supported by Twitch broadcasters over the past year, but will also feature the return of the TwitchCon Charity Decathlon!
The decathlon last year saw over 70 Twitch broadcasters competing against each other in a series of challenges and competitions, earning decathlon points to walk away with the biggest slice of the prize pool. $55,000 dollars was raised last year, which was a great achievement — but this year, it’s going to be bigger, better, and a lot more money for our 10 participating charities.
How? We’ll get to that.
But first! The 10 charities joining us in the Charity Plaza are:
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a charity dedicated towards saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. They do this by funding scientific research and offering educational programs to generate awareness about how to #StopSuicide
American Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. They provide support in five key service areas: disaster relief, supporting America’s military families, lifesaving blood, health and safety services, and international services.
Direct Relief is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that provides aid to people in more than 70 countries whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.
Extra Life is an online grassroots movement working to save local kids through the power of play. Their dedicated “Game Day” is a fundraising event, where the proceeds go toward any branch of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals — but “Extra Lifers” can fundraise for their CMN Hospital of choice any day of the year!
GameChanger Charity’s mission is to leverage technology and innovation to ease the pain and suffering of children facing life-threatening illnesses. They do this by delivering meaningful services directly to hospital patients & staff, award financial aid to recovering patients, and host unique online gaming events.
Save the Children invests in childhood — every day, in times of crisis, and for our future. In the US and around the world, they give children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and provide protection from harm.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. They ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Stack-Up is about using the awesome power of gaming to support US, NATO, and Australian/New Zealand veterans around the world! They provide supply crates of the latest in games and gear/consoles to combat zones and military hospitals to enjoy, air assaults for veterans to attend events like E3, and much more!
Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful.
This year, we are going bigger and better — starting with our prize pool! Thanks to pre-TwitchCon fundraisers, including Quest for the Cause, our decathlon competition will be STARTING with more than what was raised all of last year! That means over $55,000+ dollars will kick off the prize pool, with the entire weekend collecting additional donations!
On top of that, we have also upgraded the amount of decathlon rounds from 6 to 10, which means we will have 150+ Twitch Partners joining us and competing against each other for bragging rights (and the biggest slice of the prize pool!) Notable broadcasters joining us include LobosJR, trihex, Aureylian, ProtonJon, CalebHart42,VernNotice, and many, many, MANY more, with the ever-so-handsome iKasperr and a slew of other partners assisting in hosting all 10 rounds of in-your-face action!
While we don’t want to give away ALL of the details…
This year’s decathlon will be a variety of game, art, food, and music challenges — some of your favorite broadcasters might find themselves in the field of battle, whereas others will have to talk their way out of a shark tank (literally! …kinda…) and don’t forget your Virtual Reality or ukulele skills at home as these broadcasters will have to run the gauntlet if they plan on taking home the biggest slice of the prize pool this year.
To help in our endeavor to raise as much money as possible for these 10 charities, Twitch will also be donating 1 dollar for every 100 bits dropped in all official TwitchCon channels for the duration of the convention — including our home at https://www.twitch.tv/twitchconcharitystage!
We will also be benefiting from any/all bits used on https://twitch.tv/twitch for the duration of PAX West — with 1 dollar donated for every 100 bits used there as well.

We are super stoked to be the official charity sponsor for TwitchCon again this year — and while our ambitions may be high, we certainly hope that our combined efforts will lead to a very successful charity section of TwitchCon for 2017 (and beyond).
