A poet’s melancholy

Why?

Why do we poets adore sadness?

Why do we make depression sound poetic?

Why do we make chains with words and lock ourselves to them with guilt?

Why do we trip and fall into these traps called words?

Why do we prefer to write down rather than to talk it out?

Why is it that sometimes all we need is to be left alone with our words?

Why is it that when it’s dark, silent, and sad that poetry flows well through the veins?

Are all poets sad?

Or

Does sadness bring the poet out?

Writing is how I pour my heart out into the world. Any writing, I feel should be relatable and be able to tell the reader they aren't alone in this world.
