Are you always late in getting the meeting started even when you have reached on time?

Do you ever wonder why?

The answer to this is very simple: People

Getting late because of other people is the first thing you want to get improved on as it is very important in Time Management.

When you have all your tasks planned for the day according to each task on a different particular time, you just can’t afford to get all your tasks rescheduled because of someone else. So its very simple that you might want to get people on time when they have a meeting with you.

Here are some ways you can start your meeting on time:

1. Make the meeting time very clear with the people you are meeting: Let the people have a written confirmation/ invitation of the meeting with the time and venue very clearly stated on it. Set up an agenda for the meeting so you can get a rough estimate of how long the meeting will last, so you can set up your other tasks for the day accordingly.

2. Don’t wait for anyone who is late: That is probably the best thing to do. Once you start a meeting without that specific person, they wont be late the next time you meet them. Anyways a meeting with minimum number of people is the best meeting.

3. Shorter the meetings, better the results: Try to make the meetings very short, because if the meeting is set up for 30 minutes, the chances of someone showing up late are very less compared to a meeting which is supposed to last an hour long. Another benefit is that the shorter the meeting, more prepared and energetic everyone will be throughout the meeting.

4. Rewarding those who are on time: This can be done by providing some snacks, drinks to people who show up early and they can also be given an opportunity to present their thoughts before everyone else in the meeting.

5. Don’t discuss the same things you discussed in the beginning: This is very important for those who come in late with thinking that they will get a brief of what happened in the meeting earlier before they joined in.

This tips are most likely to get your meeting started on time and worth a try.
