Scheduling made easy with TimeFerret Keyboard

In a previous post, I talked about how TimeFerret’s Daily Donut can increase your productivity by making you aware of how you spend time at work. In this post, I want to introduce you to another of TimeFerret’s productivity-increasing features: the TimeFerret Keyboard. ⌨️

It’s a custom keyboard that you can switch to in any app, in the same way that you switch to an emoji keyboard. 🙌

But how is that even remotely related to productivity, you ask? Let’s think about how you usually use your calendar. Let’s say, your co-worker Eve wants to meet with you. She sends you an email: “Hey, shall we have a quick discussion about the latest sales numbers? Let me know when.” What do you do?

1. Leave your email app.
2. Open your calendar app.
3. Look for open slots.
4. Commit these slots to your memory.
5. Leave the calendar app.
6. Go back to the email app.
7. Type “Hey, Sure. Here are my free times”.
8. Type in the slots.
9. Hit Send.

Wait, are you sure about those slots? Did you get the date and time right? Was it 3pm on the fourth or 4pm on the third? 😕

Not sure? Now let’s try it again with TimeFerret Keyboard.

Let’s say, your co-worker Eve wants to meet with you. She sends you an email: “Hey, shall we have a quick discussion about the newest leads? Let me know when.” What do you do?

1. Reply with “Hey, Sure. Here are my free times.”
2. Hold down the little globe on your keyboard 🌐 and switch over to TimeFerret Keyboard.
3. Select available slots.
4. Add a meeting title.
5. Tap on “publish”.
6. Hit send.

Simpler? You bet. Here’s the best part: Eve doesn’t even have to be a TimeFerret user herself. Once Eve has responded, you can easily add that event to your calendar with a single tap.
