The 1980s cult hit TV show GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) evokes some serious nostalgia in people of a certain age. For some women cast in the show, it was an alternative to stunt doubling, modeling, or porn. Since many of them no show biz experience at all, they got wrestling training in Las Vegas. They then transformed themselves into kitschy, offensive characters that probably wouldn’t fly today — oh, except in the new Netflix series based on the story of GLOW.
