We don’t feel too badly for Hedy Lamarr. She was stunningly beautiful, had a brilliant mind, and had the good sense to flee her first, oppressive, fascist-supporting husband to find her path as an actor in Hollywood films. That Hollywood was only interested in her beauty is no great surprise. Still, one wonders if her first patent had been taken more seriously, what else she might have achieved.
