Russ Meyer’s 1959 film The Immoral Mr. Teas featured little dialogue, a simple plotline…and lots of large breasts. The film didn’t prove that sex sells—that was already known—but that there was a way around the morality guidelines of the notorious Motion Picture Production Code, known as the Hays Code. The film was screened in regular theaters and made a profit of more than $1.5 million. What would become the multi-billion dollar American porn industry hit the mainstream.
