Hi friends,

I’m currently typing this at 30,000 feet on a spotty Internet plan, so I’ll keep this brief. Here’s what’s new at TimescaleDB:

1. Timescale tours India!

First, the reason for our airborne setting: Mat (one of our core developers) and I will be in India for the next two weeks, speaking at PGConf India (Feb 22–23), and at Meetups in Bangalore (Feb 24) and Pune (Feb 25–26). (The Bangalore Meetup already has close to 200 signups. Turns out everything is more crowded in India…) If you or your colleagues are in Bangalore, Pune, or Mumbai, please let us know — would be great to meet in person:

2. And then we’ll be in Amsterdam…

…for GrafanaCon EU (Mar 1–2). Erik (another core developer) is giving a talk and is on a panel, and Andrew (who heads up our outreach) is staffing the booth.

3. We had two straight days on top of HN (achievement unlocked)

A big thanks to all of you who helped spread our fundraising news, which was covered by TechCrunch, WSJ, and others. Not only did our fundraising post land at the HN #3 slot, but our interview with The Next Platform rose to HN #1 the very next day:

4. 4,000+ GitHub stars

3,000 feels like yesterday, doesn’t it?

5. 0.9.0 Release…

…Is coming very soon. But here’s a sneak peek at the changelog. Big thank you to these users for this release (using their GitHub usernames): @Anthares, @oldgreen, @fvannee, @maksm90, @Rashid987, RaedA (from Slack), @haohello, @LonghronShen, @devereaux, @carlospeon.

6. Interview with the Data Engineering Podcast

Mike and I were fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with Tobias Macey as part of the Data Engineering Podcast. Please take a listen, especially if you’d like to hear more about what we have planned in the future. Goes well with a drive or workout.

7. Our inaugural Time-Series Data NY Meetup

We held the first ever Time-Series Data Meetup last week, focused on Industrial Machine Data in Manufacturing. ~100 attendees. Speakers included Oden Technologies, and Machine Metrics. Hosted by the nice folks (and our investors) at Two Sigma Ventures.

Any way we can be of help? Please let us know.

Much love,
Ajay, Mike, and the team
