There’s a new wave of online dating

Online Dating keeps evolving

Since I started this thesis, I noticed that there were a number of new dating apps being launched to try and challenge this Tinder-era. I thought I’d keep a running list to keep ya’ll in the loop:

Hinge (Rebrand + relaunch)

Hinge is actively campaigning against the swipe and is claiming to be the new “Relationship” app. It uses an Instagram like feed for people to get to know users and claims that it helps build real connections. Cost: $7/month

Try Hinge

Feeld (previously 3inder)

Feeld was relaunched after a lawsuit from Tinder. This app is for the kinky, curious and open minded couples and singles, it works the same as Tinder except it creates a platform specifically for this community. Cost: Free

Try Feeld

Hater

Hater is using a reverse strategy of uniting people together based on the thing they hate. The match system is based on you rating certain things, whether you love them or hate them. Then you get presented with people around you in a familiar swipe like format. Cost: Free

Try Hater

Did I miss any?

Let me know! Feel free to comment of any new apps you’ve tried 😁
