On Humble Pie, Backtracking and Saying Sorry, or Not

A tiny life writing prompt on ‘when you realise you were wrong’

It was a DJ on the radio.

He asked a simple question, ‘when was the last time you ate humble pie?’ I thought about this and ended up blank. I very rarely eat humble pie, but that’s because I add caveats in every opinion I give. What about you?

Eating humble pie is the moment when you realise you were wrong in an area where you confidently thought you were right. Most people would apologise, some will back-track and rectify this issue. Others will stubbornly hold their views. Ring a bell?

Writing prompt: October 2020

Ouch, this could be a difficult write, but it could be therapeutic, writing about a moment where you had to back-track. It could be a story about yourself, a friend, a pet, children, parents or something you observed. As long as it is true and reflective, there are always lessons to be learned.

I hope this prompt brings a wide variety of stories, funny stories, sad stories, encouraging storing, inspiring stories. Stories that challenge and move us. Stories that connect with us and shows us someone else’s perspective of life.
