I know what you’re thinking, I’ve heard it before . . .

why would a feline go in for such drawer?

if she leaves me at home, there’ll be 15 dead swallows.

And that’s not a problem for my purring gullet,

but for her, it’s the equal of one silver bullet.

So here I ride shotgun, tucked away in this purse.

But don’t call the hotline, there are problems far worse.

For later she’ll stroke me and hand feed me tuna.
