Tip #1 — Note the full project team

As your proposed project progresses and you prepare a proposal, make sure you don’t just note the client, but the other industry partners who are associated with the project.

Making this association keeps your relevant team members informed and is a big help later in identifying patterns in your business development successes.

Depending on your account configuration, there are several categories you can allocate companies to, such as Client, Architect, Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, etc. These options are customisable by your account admin.

You can also make a comment next to each company as required to communicate everything you need to about each relationship.

Manage your related companies for each project, and identify the complete web of relationships it takes to win a job.

Tip #2 — fall in love with the selection tool

Your shortcut to becoming a power user is the selection tool. Hover over the white and grey circle next to most lists of companies, projects and contacts, and tick one or more items. Once you do this, a bunch of options will be presented to you in a blue bar, letting you:

  • Add multiple companies to a List
  • Add contacts as invitees to a Marketing Event
  • Join the team of a Company, Project or Contact
  • Link records, and merging records together
  • and more
Some of the options available after selecting item(s).

Tip #3 — Create org charts to map your key client relationships

For your key clients, it can help to map out your understanding of their organisation structure. Who reports to who, and which of your colleagues know each contact.

Tip #4 — Build individual and/or team lists of target clients

This can really help you focus your business development activity and gives you an easy reference for what to do next.

  1. Create lists from by navigating to Companies → Add New List.
  2. You can also add companies to your Lists later by ticking them, and selecting + to List.
Add new list — it’s always on the left.

Tip #5 — @mention colleagues in posts to get their attention
You can tag your colleagues in a tiny+ post or comment by typing the @ symbol then the start of their name. Select your colleague from the list that appears, and they will receive a notification message with your post.

Type an @ symbol, then the start of your colleague’s name. Click them when they appear in the list below.

And a bonus tip…

  • You can share YouTube videos in posts and comments. Paste the URL in, and after you post it will appear in a nicely formatted embedded view that will play right inside the news feed.

Best of luck becoming a tiny+ pro. And if we can help with any of these tips, get in touch at contact@tiny.plus.
