Lexy and her grandmother Yaya, were walking on the beach one breezy summer morning. They loved spending time together and collecting seashells that gathered at the water’s edge.

Sadly, the beach was littered with cans, plastic, and food bags.

“Lexy, today we each get a bucket. One for collecting seashells and one for collecting trash. We’ll wear gloves to be safe.”

“Yaya, why do we have to pick up trash we didn’t leave?”

“When the ocean gives you seashells as a present, we must also give back in return.”

“Yaya, I like to help and make the beach beautiful again!”

Mindfulness and responsibility go hand in hand, reminding us to care for our surroundings and make thoughtful choices that benefit our world.
