Azores — Day 2
got off to a foggy start … but cleared up rather quickly!
Saturdays, as in many islands, are the busiest market days, so off we are — that is my wonderful host José-Maria and me — for some #MARKETing in Ponta Delgada.
Everything is HUGE here…
except for José-Maria and me…Well, and the pineapples for that matter :)
Marketing and sharing funny stories about local sights
gives us an appetite so we stop for some food right by the harbor.
All fed we continue our island tour. meet locals, enjoy the sea and our company…
[FILL IN THE MENTAL IMAGE OF AN EXTENDED BEACH STOP WITH A NICE SWIM IN THE ATLANTIC WAVES AS WE WERE TOO RELAXED TO EVEN THINK ABOUT BRINGING A CAMERA]
Back at home — under the watchful eyes of a curious cat —
José-Maria turned out to be not just a wonderful host and island guide but also a very skilled (part-time vegan) cook
who under the watchful eyes of now 2 curious cats
served us a delicious vegetable curry made with local goodies we found at the market…
Full, tired and content we were very tempted to go to bed right away… but didn’t and went to a festival in a town nearby instead
before we finally called it a day.
Good night!
