The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.t⏳

It involves breaking work down into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes, separated by short breaks. We know these intervals as “Pomodoro”. The technique is named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as a student to time his work intervals.

The basic steps of the Pomodoro Technique are as follows:

  1. Choose a task to be accomplished.
  2. Set the Pomodoro timer to 25 minutes.
  3. Work on the task until the timer rings, then put a checkmark on a piece of paper.
  4. Take a short break (3–5 minutes).
  5. After every four Pomodoro, take a longer break (15–30 minutes).

Personally , I used this Technique, because :

  1. Increased productivity: By breaking work down into shorter, focused intervals, you may be able to accomplish more in less time. This can help you feel more accomplished and motivated to continue working.
  2. Reduced distractions: By focusing on one task at a time during a Pomodoro interval, you may be less likely to get distracted by other tasks, emails, or notifications.
  3. Improved time management: The Pomodoro Technique can help you better estimate how long tasks take, which can help you plan your day more effectively and make more realistic to-do lists.
  4. Reduced burnout: Taking regular breaks can help you avoid burnout and keep your energy levels up throughout the day.
  5. Better focus and concentration: The structured nature of the Pomodoro Technique can help you stay focused on a task, especially if you struggle with maintaining concentration for long periods of time.
