2021 : Year in Review 🧡
We entered 2021 with optimism and doubled down in our goal to build the simplest and most effective self-service ticketing platform for event creators. Here’s how we did.
First, the numbers. In 2021, we:
- served 2,061 amazing creators.
- listed 772 events.
- sold 69,057 tickets to 30,975 guests which were worth N160m.
- processed 14,262 cashless transactions worth N35m
And then we did something hooge. We launched tix pro — our premium subscription plan with added features for event creators. Special shoutout to our first-ever pro user — Expo Lagos.
We built new things!
- custom fields
- discount codes
- recurring events
- and an event discovery page! We received so many requests to do this and we are glad we did. Not only did it help our users promote their events to potential event attendees, but it also helped fun lovers find what events to attend around them.
We made new friends. We worked with the coolest brands including Femme Africa, Kuda, Bamboo, Abeg, I Said What I Said Podcast, Shitsuke Flag Football League, Expo Lagos, TrybeOne, Buycoins, Native, Zikoko, Lady Donli, The Cavemen, Palmwine Fest, Flip The Music, Polo Beach Club, Eat Drink Festival and more!

🎉 We expanded to Ghana. 🇬🇭
We went on two tours. I Said What I Said Podcast trusted tix to handle ticketing for their Lagos, Abuja and Accra shows and The Cavemen did the same for their shows in Owerri, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos!
To close out, we’ll like to give out some awards.
- The award for the fastest event to sell out goes to Nativ5. All tickets sold out in a record 45 minutes! 👏🏾
- The award for the creator with the most events this year goes to HoaQ Club!
- We heard one voice everywhere we went this year. Performer of the year goes to Lojay! 🎶
We are super grateful to our community for rocking with us this year. We have so much in store for 2022 that we cannot wait to show you.
