This month’s creator spotlight is on Daniel Asiegbunam, creative director of Alte Studios, a multidisciplinary studio and experience design company.

In August this year, Alte Studios and TSEE collaborated to produce Expo Lagos — a fusion of art, music and technology. The two-day event featured interactive projection mapping, art sales, clothing pop-ups and performances from some of our favourite artistes including Sgawd, Lojay, Oxlade and Kida Kudz. It was such a fun event that encouraged expression and collaboration and we are so happy that we could be a part of it.

In this interview, Daniel tells us about the inspiration behind the event and how tix helped manage ticketing and admissions seamlessly.

T: Tell us about Expo Lagos. What was your inspiration behind the exhibition?

D: For Expo Lagos, our mission was to take art off the wall and create stimulating, immersive experiences. We wanted to provide a space for creatives of all kinds, a space for expression, collaboration and a platform to showcase their work and talents. We believe that by employing the limitless possibilities of creativity, technology and innovation, one can push boundaries beyond the wildest of imaginations.

T: What was your favourite part of the event?

D: My favourite part of the event was seeing our vision come to fruition. Expo Lagos is something that hasn’t really been done before in Nigeria and it was crazy seeing it come to life after all the planning and conceptualisation.

T: How did you hear about tix.africa?

D: I heard about tix from an article about raising pre-seed funding.

T: What was the problem you were trying to solve with tix?

D: Ticketing, as a whole. It is one of the most stressful parts of running a successful event — from the actual sales of tickets to admissions to the wristbands.

T: How did tix help solve your problem?

D: tix was a one-stop-shop for my event support needs. They facilitated the sale of tickets seamlessly and on the day, we were provided with support staff to manage the check in process. Plus, we got really cool branded wristbands.

T: What was your experience like using tix?

D: My overall experience was smooth and convenient. It took all the hassle of ticketing away, allowing us to focus on making other aspects of the event memorable.

T: When can we expect the second edition of Expo Lagos?

D: The next edition of Expo Lagos is holding in December. You can expect a bigger and more immersive experience like never seen before. If people thought the first edition was crazy, I can’t wait to show what we have in store for them.

T: Thank you for speaking with me, Daniel. We can’t wait for the next edition of Expo Lagos!
