Tell us about Femme Africa

Femme Africa is a platform and a community created to spotlight women in the African creative industry. We recognise the importance of representation and the creative industry’s role in shaping the society we live in and want to get as many women involved as we can!

How did you find out about tix.africa?

I found out about Tix.africa through the founders.

😉 so beyond that, why do you use tix.africa?

I use tix because it’s relatively easy to use and create events. Never had any problems.

What are the main differences between online events and in real life (IRL) events for you?

Main differences between online events for me is that you reach more people with online events. However, we’re still humans and I think there’s a more personal touch to in-person events.

We agree and are definitely looking to in-person events coming back but until then we have to work with the current reality. Do you think you will organise more online events when the pandemic is over?

Definitely, I love that with our webinars, we can get speakers from all over the world and don’t have to worry about location and logistics constraints. It also works out more affordable because I don’t have to worry about venues and other costs.

What features would you like to see on tix.africa?

A waitlist function for sure!

The first vacation you’re taking when the world is 100% Corona free?

I’ll probably go for a relaxing long weekend in Accra, Ghana.

Sounds relaxing!

We’re also excited to share that in since we conducted this interview Femme Africa launched an editorial arm called Femme Mag and we are so inspired. The team is currently receiving pitches from Nigerian women for interviews, essays, articles, short stories and more! Learn more about Femme Mag by following their Instagram page.

Also, the Femme Africa Instagram page is just about the coolest IG page we follow from the tix account so you should definitely check out their page and join the community!
