A recurring event is one that is held more than once in a given period. This period can be a month, week or year. For example, it could be a dance class that meets weekly or a bi-weekly religious meeting or a daily workout session. With tix, an event organizer can set up this event once, and attendees can choose the day they want to book to attend.
We decided to create this feature because we noticed that some users organized certain events that occurred multiple times, and they had to create a new event page whenever they wanted to sell tickets or collect registrations for said events.
To help organizers save time and make the event management process a lot easier and efficient, we decided to create a feature that would allow you to create one event page and schedule it to reoccur based on the frequency you prefer. For example, you can create an event page for your yoga class and set it to reoccur every week for the next three months. This way, you don’t have to create a new event page every single time you want to sell tickets or collect registrations. It totally makes sense, right? We thought so too!
What are the benefits of recurring events, you might ask? Well, for one, it saves you time. You’ll only have to enter the details of your event once, and it’ll automatically be duplicated for as many dates as you want it to. If there’s any change to the venue or poster image, you can simply edit this once, and it’ll automatically change for the rest of the scheduled dates. Super efficient!
Another benefit to recurring events is the flexibility it provides your attendees. People are more likely to sign up for your event if it is based on their possible availability. Attendees can pick a day from a list of several days that they would like to attend the event.
Here’s how to set up a recurring event on tix.africa.
Listing an event to reoccur on tix is easy and is only available to users on the tix pro plan. For now, you can only schedule your event to occur daily, weekly or bi-weekly.
- Log in to your tix account and click on ‘new event’.
2. Select the type of event you would like to create. Recurring events can be in person (live) or virtual (online).
3. Complete the event form as normal; however, select recurring event in the event time and date section. Here you can enter your start date, event times, event frequency, and when it ends.
4. Once you are done, click save to proceed to create tickets.
