Guide: How to Organize a Virtual Event

In light of COV-19, many event organizers have converted in-person events to be held online. At at the same time, since we’re all stuck indoors there’s been a boom in the use of conferencing tools and social media for all types of hangouts.

In the last few weeks, we’ve seen a lot of organizers needing tools to do this well and that’s where we come in. In 5 easy steps, you can organize an online event with tix.africa

Let’s Go

1. Create an account: If you don’t have one already, sign up with your email address at tix.africa to create an account.

2. Select online event.

3. Create your event: Enter in all the information about your event. The name; description; date and time, your social media handles; and of course a well designed image.

4. Under the manage tab, you specify how your guests will join this virtual event.

  • Option 1: Create a Zoom link with tix. This means your event will be hosted on the Zoom platform. You will need to download the Zoom app. Clicking the Zoom link created by tix will open the Zoom app. You will be the host of the event. Your event will have unlimited minutes but will be capped at 100 guests.
  • Option 2: Connect your own Zoom account. If you have an existing Zoom account, you can connect it to tix and generate a meeting link to be used by your guests.
  • Option 3: Add the meeting/streaming link to the platform of your choice that you want attendees to receive after registering. This could be a Google Meets link, a Youtube link, basically any service you are using.

5. Add tickets: Include a name, price, perks and so on.

6a. Add your bank details. Applies only if your event is a paid event.

6b. Publish your event: Use to toggle below your event name to publish it. After you publish it you can check our your live event page or copy the link to share with friends, tweet it, or share it on Facebook directly with our widgets.
