Know more about your attendees with custom fields

Again, as with every tix.africa feature update, we’ll start with why we exist; We love events, and we want to make it easier for anyone who’s trying to organize an event to do so — whether it’s your first time or your 90th time.

Custom fields are a feature for organizers to easily create specific questions and collect clear answers from attendees in the simplest way possible.

As an organizer, you might want to know more than just the names, emails, and phone numbers of your attendees to create a personalized experience. With a custom field, you can collect any information like date of birth, special needs, delivery address, and just about anything you’d like to know about who’s coming to your event.

Things get deeply personalized even further. Say you have three ticket types for your event, standard, VIP, and table for eight; you can collect specific questions for each ticket type. That is, each ticket type has its own custom question field.

Collecting the information is just half of the job. Information collected from your attendees via a custom field can be exported as a CSV from tix.

Adding a custom field to your tix.africa event registration page is easy with a few simple steps.

1. On an event page, click tickets and then the plus sign to add a ticket.
2. Fill in details about your ticket
3. Scroll to the bottom, click ‘do you want to collect additional information?’
4. Add your question and hit save. That’s it.

Users on the tix free plan can only have one custom field to collect information from guests, while tix pro users have access to unlimited custom fields to ask as many questions as they would like to.

To see your custom field replies;

1. On an event page, click orders
2. Click export
3. A CSV file containing your guests’ information and replies starts downloading
4. Open it and see your guests’ responses.
