Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer is doing a massive world tour in 2020
There’s nothing more exciting for any music fan than seeing their favorite band perform on home soil in front of a fiery crowd. That concert excitement goes up a whole new level, and that’s what’s going to happen during 5 Seconds of Summer’s homecoming celebration.
2020 will end in pop-rock fashion, and 5 Seconds of Summer are making it all possible. Their worldwide “No Shame” tour will host concerts in Australia between the end of November and the beginning of December. Their first show will take place on November 27th on the Gold Coast at Home of the Arts and will continue down into Brisbane, then change shores for a brief moment in Perth, before heading back east. They will end things off in their hometown, Sydney, on December 5th.
5 Seconds of Summer will be touring in support of their fourth studio album C A L M, which is due to release at the end of March. If you’re hoping for another cheesy mixture of pop-punk tracks, then you’ve got it all wrong. Ever since “Youngblood” released in 2018, the band has laid down the punk attitude and went full-on pop. Like any band that needs to remain relevant as they mature, they had to ditch their emo-gone-pop pose and stick to one music style. And pop, they chose POP!
They formed in 2011 and gained rapid popularity through covering songs from various artists on YouTube. Their style resembled a long lost music style that seemed to be missing in the music industry. After years of emo-rock boybands leading the way, there was nobody. 5 Seconds of Summer fit the script entirely and started touring with One Direction in 2013 before releasing their pop-punk anthem “She Looks So Perfect” in 2014. And the rest is….. well, history!
Don’t get us wrong; 5 Seconds of Summer was probably the best pop-punk that ever existed. They’re Australia’s most prominent mainstream music export in recent history that rounded up groupies in the US and the UK. They were…..heartbreakers and the teenage idols of their generation. Their early days pop-punk sound was every teenager’s dream, their music was softly revolting; they were rocking the emo style, and chicks dug that. They reached massive success outside Australia, topping charts all across the world, and most notably, they’ve rung the bells of the US Billboard 200 charts. It will be an all-ages tour of the old and the new 5 Seconds of Summer sound, playing in front of their home audience.
As they matured, so did their music direction. 5 Seconds of Summer is still a pop band. But now their pop sound is filled with creativity as they take from the 80s and psychedelic influences in their most recent album. Don’t you believe pop can be creative? Then convince yourself during the “No Shame” tour
