Tixl rebrands to Autobahn Network
Change is the only constant. Evolution via execution.
We are thrilled to announce that today, as part of our growth strategy, we are rebranding Tixl to Autobahn Network.
To coincide with this, we are releasing a new logo and a brand new website. The team has been working hard on this evolution since the end of last year when we announced that the Autobahn Network would be the first Layer 2 Optimistic Rollup for the BNB Smart Chain (formerly Binance Smart Chain).
We wanted a new and modern identity that was aligned with our brand objectives and could communicate the core of what we stood for. The result turned out exactly as we wanted it: innovative and bold.
Background
Tixl has always been the Autobahn Network. But the Autobahn Network evolved and is about to launch as a scaling solution. To strengthen the brand & maximize marketing impact, we will only have one brand to take us forward.
The Autobahn Network
The Autobahn Network is a Layer2 Optimistic Rollup created to support and scale the BNB Smart Chain (BSC; formerly known as Binance Smart Chain) network. Using Optimism’s open source code, the Autobahn was built as a rollup designed to batch process transactions to reduce usage and cost on the BNB Smart Chain base layer. The Autobahn is designed with developers and the community in mind, to sustain a seamless user experience within the BNB ecosystem.
Token
TXL will remain the core token. But, given how TXL has evolved, it doesn't make sense for it to stand for “Tixl” anymore — whereas Tixl was intended to stand for a payment token when the project was launched in 2019. It now makes perfect sense for it to be relaunched as “ Transaction Lane”!
The TXL token is the fuel for the Autobahn Network, so having TXL now stand for “Transaction Lane” is much more fitting. In the past, the symbol “TXL” was utilized as “Tixl”, the organization that developed the Autobahn Network, the German Tixl Labs Organization, or Tixl gGmbH, respectively. With the project rebranding from Tixl to Autobahn Network, the new meaning for TXL fits perfectly.
The hard-capped TXL token benefits from all transaction fees, staking, and governance:
- PoS Staking in Autobahn Network nodes: Node hosters will earn BNB from each transaction that happens on the Autobahn Network.
- Autobahn Network Governance: Node hosters will be the governors of the Autobahn Network.

Transition Phase
Over the coming days and weeks, we will update everything. Some updates, where we are dependent on third-party developers, might take more time but these will also eventually change.
The Road Ahead
The rebranding has rejuvenated the project and brought new energy to the team. The road ahead is super-exciting and we look forward to tackling it head-on with a clearly defined direction and goals.
