Democrats and the Biden Administration Shouldn’t Give Conservatives a Reason

They may be down, but it’s only a matter of time until they are back to their old, evil tricks

hey are reeling right now but far from defeated. Conservatives found out it was a mistake to throw their hats in with Trump and his administration in 2016. They were on a wild ride from the moment he came down that escalator, and some wanted it to continue even after the insurrection on January 6th.

And despite the stain on their reputations, 147 Republicans voted to overturn the election results. They sided with the worst elements of our society instead of showing solidarity in support of their colleagues and peers, some of who could have died at the hands of criminals a day before.

They held on to any hope that their golden (orange) boy could steal the election, even if he and his cronies committed treason.

The sad thing is that it’s no surprise that conservatives would go this far. Republicans have always shown a lack of morals and a willingness to do any unfair and illegal activities to make sure they get their way or that they have more money to line their coffers.

But, this article isn’t another mind-numbing account of all the wrongs that conservatives have committed since America was new. We all know what they have done, and they know what they have done. The is no need to keep rehashing their evil deeds because, frankly, there will never be justice, and they will continue to do whatever they want with little more than a slap on the wrist because most of them are rich and white.

No, what we need to talk about are the democrats.

Many liberals came out and voted democrat because there was no other option. Trump had to lose. The republicans had to lose. Most of us didn’t want Biden; we wanted Bernie, but we chose the lesser of two evils because the democrats wanted Joe, and Kamala was a nice bonus even if she was a little too centrist for us.

Next time, we won’t be happy with table scraps; we want AOC.

The great thing about all of this is that Biden and Harris came off the bench swinging, and great things are getting done at a record pace. People are getting vaccinated, LGBTQ+ people are getting more rights every day, Native Americans are finally getting a voice, and we are finally addressing the climate.

And we have seen the picks to fill your cabinet and work in your administration, and we adore the diversity and the general love of all things science. Republicans are being replaced at record speed, but we feel the urgency, and it can’t happen quick enough.

Now the Dems are in control of both Houses of Congress, which is huge — allowing our plans to succeed.

But, liberals are seeing some disturbing patterns as well, and we don’t like it. The Biden administration is backing the heinous Betsy Devos on the wrong side of a lawsuit against her, betraying over 160,000 students who say Devos has scammed them.

And what about Biden’s support of California AB-5, which terrifies freelancers everywhere?

We still have not seen the stimulus checks, a $15 minimum wage, or the rest of Biden’s $1.9 trillion rescue plan, which were some of the Biden campaign’s huge promises.

Now, we will give the Biden Administration the benefit of the doubt because it’s only been a little over a month, and we are fighting a pandemic. And Biden and Harris are dealing with a mountain of damage created by the Trump administration, which will take some time to fix.

It’s not that we are impatient, it’s just that we see a few things slipping, and we are getting worried that the democrats will give the conservatives a reason to say, “We told you so!” and cause division and unrest again.

The conservatives are just waiting for us to slip up. The insurrectionists who stormed the capital on January 6th, 2021, are still out there. Just as many people still love Trump as before the election.

We cannot afford to let our guard down and assume we are doing a great job because the conservatives are looking for any reason to take us down.

Democrats are great at making promises but terrible with the follow-through. Don’t let that be the impetus for the Trumpers to come flooding out of the sewer and swallow us all.

We should all be sleeping with one eye open.

There is much that liberals expect of Biden and the democrats in the next few years. He always needs to remember that the people who won the election for him are waiting for you to come through.

We want a Green New Deal, student loan forgiveness, universal basic income, and immigration reform. We want the government to be the driving force against racism and intolerance and in favor of Black and brown people worldwide and within our borders.

We want the billionaires and Fortune 500s to start paying their fair share of taxes and stop exploiting the American people to make themselves richer.

We want healthcare and the basic human necessities that most other countries have.

We won’t want our tax dollars to go to war and profiteering, and we want the United States to stop killing poor people and little children in the name of oil and power.

We want this pandemic to be over, and we were hoping the Democrats could make sure we are never caught with our pants down again. Five hundred thousand people have died, and that is far too many American lives lost when most of it could have been prevented.

We don’t want to be a laughing-stock on the world stage anymore; four years is enough. It used to be that many people disagreed with us in America, but at least they respected us. It’s time to stop being the butt of the joke.

We want the Dems to follow through with their promises, and we want to make sure that we don’t give the conservatives any reason to think they can repeat the coup that happened in January of 2021.

It’s time to stand firm and united against fascism in all its forms.
