TNC Blockchain Academy is a post that talks about how TNC Group could help universities and students access education on blockchain technology.

The status of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin had gained popularity since it’s a meteoric rise in 2017–2018, and interest in cryptocurrencies still remains high — especially among college students. Universities appear to be a hub for cryptocurrency activity and those involved in the academic institutes pay a great deal of attention — and funds — to integrate digital currencies and blockchain technology to the higher education sector.

In Mr. Bruce Jeong’s presentation on TNC, he discusses the prospect of creating the TNC Blockchain Academy as part of TNC’s future plans.

Mr. Jeong also discussed the company’s current overview and business plans. He mentions the current status of the company and the strategies in place to help the company grow. He moves on to explain his vision of the business and the plans on reaching that goal. He concludes the presentation by showcasing TNC extensive list of distinguished advisors.

TNC Blockchain Academy Expands Learning Horizon

The TNC Blockchain Academy is a concept that has been discussed within the company and is a topic that is to be further considered as a possibility in the near future.

With huge interest coming from university students and academic institutions from all around the globe, 42% of the world’s top universities offer crypto-related courses. Alongside this, there should be an open-to-all opportunity, prioritizing those students who cannot afford the course fees required to attend digital and innovative-based courses. TNC aims to resolve this problem by establishing its own blockchain academy. TNC’s Blockchain Academy will be an institution that grants scholarships for people who are willing to learn but cannot afford nor receive education about blockchain. Focusing on developing countries, TNC wants to spread awareness and knowledge about this innovative technology to interested individuals who are unable to pay for their education.

There are a few other countries that have implemented blockchain courses. Mexico, for one, has it’s very own online blockchain academy called Blockchain Academy Mexico. With Mexico being incredibly interested in blockchain and crypto, TNC would have the ability to offer scholarships to students that wouldn’t be able to afford this type of education within that location. TNC could also offer a partnership with the blockchain academy to offer them consultation and blockchain development if necessary.

In Brazil, to get accepted into The Rio Branco Institute and become a diplomat, new candidates are required to have knowledge in blockchain and cryptocurrency. TNC could grant scholarships to these would-be diplomats to acquire the education needed to enter graduate school. In other progressive nations where blockchain education is readily available through other blockchain developers/providers, TNC would be able to assist in consultation and blockchain development.

We understand that interest in blockchain technology has only grown since its inception. In fact, global cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase study showed that interest in learning about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency has increased exponentially over the years. Using a class at the New York University Stern School of Business as the basis for the Coinbase research, in 2014, when the class for blockchain and financial services was first created, there were only 35 students taking it. Moving ahead to the present, the number of students had increased to 230. This substantial progress in student interest and university involvement is a positive result that should be continually supported for the next generation’s benefit.

Courses on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency

To better understand the landscape of cryptocurrency in university, Coinbase evaluated the courses at the world’s top 50 universities including Stanford, Cornell, and Harvard. The analysis found that 42 percent of the universities offer at least one class on cryptocurrency or blockchain, and 22 percent among them offer more than one class across different departments. Coinbase also reviewed course catalogs of these universities and found that cryptocurrency undergraduate classes are being taught not only within the computer science departments, but also in anthropology, finance, and sociology, among others. Surprisingly, almost half of the social science majors showed interest in cryptocurrency.

One reason for such diverse interest in crypto and blockchain might be its possibility to impact society across many different domains. “Blockchain combines theory and practice and can lead to fundamental breakthroughs in many research areas,” says Dawn Song, a computer science professor at the University of California, Berkeley.

Did you know?

Yale had invested in a $400 million fund called the Paradigm fund; a family office fund that’s been investing in crypto since 2013. This private university was part of the first crop of institutions to publicly invest in a cryptocurrency project.

Crypto as University Endowment

The involvement of universities in the crypto field, in terms of offering courses/scholarships similar to TNC’s Blockchain Academy, essentially shows its support to the emergence of digital currencies. In relation to this, The Information Reporter Jon Victor explained that “backing from such closely watched institutions could help validate cryptocurrencies, which are still considered too risky by many institutional investors.” Based on this statement, it would take a well-renowned institute to incite interest in cryptocurrency from academic institutes. Then came the Ivy League school, Yale University, to answer the call.

Many universities and higher colleges have been exploring cryptocurrency courses gradually, actively steering away from involving themselves in cryptocurrency investment up until Yale’s investment. It was seen as a major step among universities — a fundamental change in how institutions think about crypto-investments.

Other renowned universities like MIT, Harvard, and Stanford are slowly getting exposure to the area of cryptocurrency by dipping their endowments in cryptocurrency. Despite the volatility, regulatory concerns, and lack of liquidity in the cryptocurrency market, reports show that university endowments worldwide are stepping into the game of cryptocurrencies. Founder of Morgan Creek Anthony Pompliano believes that “if the [cryptocurrency] industry will be around for a long time, it will be very valuable.” Alongside the digital and innovation courses offered by universities, they are also taking their chances of investing in cryptocurrencies.

With top universities in the world starting to acknowledge the presence of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, the power of knowledge should be maximized. As one of its major objectives, TNC will establish its own Blockchain Academy to provide learning opportunities and scholarships to those individuals who are passionate to learn but do not have the means to do so. We will invest our efforts and convene with the central banks of developing countries like Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, Mexico, and more.

More details about the TNC Blockchain Academy will be released in the future. Be a part of the TNC community now to stay on the top of the project’s updates and developments.
