You catch yourself doodling during an important meeting and reprimand yourself for not paying attention. There’s no need be ashamed, dear scribbler, we’re happy to inform you that your swirls and scrawls are actually an indication that you’re focused.

Neurological studies confirm that those doodles on your note pad stimulate your brain and keep you from nodding off. They even help you remember what you’re hearing. When you’re not in a meeting, your doodles encourage creative thinking by sparking areas of your brain that are sidelined when you’re in linguistic mode. They can also reduce stress and lead you to think more positively.

Not surprisingly, Leonardo Da Vinci was an awesome doodler, and we
heartily recommend that you launch your own creative renaissance by following his lead.
