In this post, I will talk about my first experience with a Virtual Reality.
I am still on my early on the journey to virtual Reality, and I have been wonder by the possibilities it brings to us. Now I have been writing about the topics on Medium, where you can see what I have been doing during this time.

It started when I told someone about the Virtual Reality technologies, my neighbor, then he said his father had recently bought a Samsung VR Gear headsets on one of his travels. I couldn’t see the time to see it, my own.
one day I went there to see the Headset, when I got on my hands, I turned around and what I saw was nothing so special with it. It is like a more personalized Google Cardbox.

The real magic was in connection of that, with a smartphone(we used Samsung note 5). When I got the headset on my head I saw a Virtual Reality environment. Then I ran applications like a game, surfed on the internet, other VR applications there.

The Headset Brings two lenses, sensors in the middle of the lens to detect if the user is in our out the headset. It takes too, a belt to be attached on head

Samsung Gear Headset and controller

I used a Gear VR controller, to make easy to interact with the environment. The VR headset brings on the right side a touchpad to navigate, but the gear controller is more interactive and is has a simple design. This is one of the things I really appreciate in this experience.

VR Gear controller

Actually, this was not my first experience with virtual reality, because I have been experiencing some VR applications on the web, and I am’ currently developing web Vr apps. I say my first experience because it was my first completely immersed, and it is complete, I will repeat, completely different from non immersed experience.

I am still fascinated with the experience. It is one of those moments will stay marked on my life. The only problems were the connections of mobile and the headset. Some times It didn’t work. But there is more to be done, like more applications, and some improvements in hardware, making it accessible to the public.

Here it’s me, wearing a sumsung VR Gear Headset

What is next.

Google cardbox is more accessible, as you can afford for less than 20$. Samsung Gear Headset is a bit expensive but it is more comfortable. The unique Deal is to have more recent Samsung smartphone like Samsung 6 to up, and note 5.

I hope to experience soon more options of headsets like HTC Vive or PlayStations VR, because those companies are doing wonderful works to make the experience better.

Before you go…

This is the end of the article, I just wanted to share my experience on Virtual Reality.
