The Wall of Inspiration

Or gratitude, love, or other emotion you’d like to cultivate

Writers do a lot of cognitive work. We ideate, we plot, we write.

How much emotion do you bring into your work?

This is the question I’d invite you to think about, because it could make a monumental difference in how your writing affects readers.

How we feel, and how we think about our feeling, means we can also influence how we uplift ourselves.

I started a wall of inspiration. It was actually Gary Chapin who inspired this. He’d been writing and talking about how sticky notes helped him create. He was inspired by another Medium writer, who was also using sticky notes. He created a whole agenda for an upcoming retreat we are collaborating on — you guessed it — using sticky notes.

Who knew that a creative art project made of sticky notes could be a good mental hygiene tool?
