The APPEA Journal (ISSN 1326–4966) is a multidisciplinary technical journal that documents peer-reviewed papers presented at APPEA’s Annual Conference. It is recognised in the Australian upstream oil and gas industry as the leading peer-reviewed publication for information on geoscience, engineering and management.

As a senior editor of the APPEA Journal and Conference Proceedings, I oversaw the publishing process that involved co-operation and collaboration with authors from academic, science, business, and government organisations. The editorial team and I analysed and determined the validity, relevance and robustness of the papers to ensure they met the high standards of the journal (e.g. exclusion of advertorial papers, research with unsubstantiated methodologies). I established and maintained strong working relationships with authors and APPEA personnel to ensure academic papers met high editorial standards, publishing style, and design and format.

As a result, the four journal volumes I co-published improved APPEA’s international reputation and accreditation. The feedback about my editing has been consistently high — publisher and managing editor Christopher Beck says my “outstanding grasp of English construction and grammar is exemplary”. Chairman of the APPEA technical programme committee commended my editorial, administrative, and project management skills. I also received researchers’ positive feedback about the publishing process.
