Born Today: Roberto Bolle

Ballet dancer Roberto Bolle (1975-) studied at La Scala in Italy and in 1996 he was promoted to principal dancer. He left the company the following year to pursue a freelance career, guesting with international companies including the Royal Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, and the Tokyo Ballet, among others. Bolle danced with ABT from 2010–2019 and he has partnered many ballerinas for their farewell performances, including Julie Kent (1969-) and Alessandra Ferri (1963-).

Also Born Today: Serbian dancer/choreographer Milorad Miskovitch (1928–2013) who moved to France to work with some of the greatest dancers and choreographers of his time, including Serge Lifar (1905–1986) and Zizi Jeanmarie (1924–2020). Later in his career he directed his own ballet company and worked for UNESCO.
