Born Today: Marge Champion

Marge Champion (1919-) and her husband, Gower Champion (1919–1980), appeared together in the movie Showboat (1951) and were one of the last well-known movie dancing couples in the 1940s and 1950s. Even before they met, she worked for Walt Disney and was the model for the lead character in Snow White (1937), the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio (1940), and the movement model for the dancing hippos in Fantasia (1940).

Movies: It’s Always Fair Weather released in 1955 and Carefree released in 1938.
