On April 28th, 1789, Fletcher Christian led a mutiny on the HMS Bounty, casting Bligh and his loyal crew out to sea, while the mutineers evaded British capture for years, eventually burning & sinking the Bounty and establishing a settlement on the island of Pitcairn.

According to legend, the men mutinied because Bligh was an overbearing, controlling captain, but if you read between the lines it’s obvious the crew just wanted to get back to Tahiti to keep partying with the locals.
