If you have been following this blog for a while, you know that we’ve been working for the past 5 years on a second iteration of the Community Canvas. And in the process of learning and working with communities across the globe, we kept asking the same question: How do we weave healthy communities?

On our journey we identified 5 patterns:

The Fire — The possibility that brings us together.
The Web — The relationships that hold us together.
The Rhythm — The rituals that connect us.
The Circles — The roles we can play.
The Spiral — Our individual and collective journeys.

I’m sooooo excited and proud to say that we just published the five elements as part of the open-source Community Weaving Framework and I would LOVE to hear how it resonates with you all:

A big thank you to our co-creators

Co-creation can mean many different things these days. This project has been a labor of love and it was deeply co-created with incredible community weavers from across the globe. At the core is our project team: Erin Dixon, Michel Bachmann, Sita Magnuson, Alfredo Carlo and Linh Trinh. Without them this wouldn’t exist. I can’t express in words what this collaboration meant and I’m eternally grateful for all of their support and wisdom. Thank you to all our colleagues who were part of the project team at different points along the journey and have shaped the project in their own ways: Chris Chavez, Christian Deligia, Daniel Brooks, Giulia Ferrari, Khuyen Bui, Lana Jelenjev, Marcello Petruzzi, Nettra Pan, Sascha Mombartz, Valentina Fuzzi. And a thank you to our partners Jim Bliss, John Rice, Kati Pfrunder and Mansi Gupta for their love and support.

Over 100 community weavers have supported us, sharing feedback to countless Google Docs and generously spending hours in Zoom calls with us. Your patience, care and thoughtful guidance has kept us going and is deeply part of the framework. Thank you thank you thank you to:
