Chapter Spotlight: TWW Palo Alto/Mountain View Holds Vigil in Protest of DACA Repeal

Attorney General Sessions calls them illegal aliens, but we call them Americans.

Hundreds of Bay Area community members — including members of Congress, business leaders, and educators — rallied and marched in support of DREAMers on Tuesday, September 5th in Mountain View, CA.

The event was organized by Together We Will Palo Alto/Mountain View in collaboration with SIREN (Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network). They had already begun organizing prior to the official announcement that DACA was ending.

In the words of Ida Rose Sylvester, the gathering was “One thousand people, united across language, class, age, and status… united by the common principles put forth in our Constitution, and the values of truth, dignity and respect.”
